Reference a Code Behind Variable in ASPX page

To reference a code behind variable in an .aspx page, use the syntax
<%= variableName %>

For example:

    {
        protected string someVariable = "Hello";
        protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {

        }
    }
